Davidson, John

English poet. FH says he tried to give the penniless Davidson money but the poet was too proud to accept it; undeterred FH approached Asquith and convinced him to give Davidson a pension of one hundred pounds a year. Despite this small extra help, Davidson killed himself a year later.
