Poet and journalist. Friend and sometime lover of Oscar Wilde, he fell out with FH when the Wilde biography was published, as he saw it as libellous of him.

FH attempted to bring about a reconciliation so that he could publish the book in England, but this came to naught when neither party could finally agree on the text of a new preface.
