Leading medical specialist. As head of the College of Surgeons he was one of those appointed to investigate the cause of leprosy by the Father Damien Fund. However, FH tells us, Hutchinson was convinced that leprosy was caused by eating stale fish and as a result his endeavours were fruitless.
