WMR Quirk's illustrations

Submitted by jonojono on
Hi Alfred, just wondering whether there's any chance you could post up WMR Quick's legendary illustrations from Nonesuch's edition of Irene Iddlesleigh? I'm not sure whether there would be copyright issues around this. I only have the US edition - which is a beautiful edition in its own right but I would love to see the pictures. Also, apologies for making several posts under the mysterious pseudonym 'Guest'. It was me in all those replies to the previous thread.

I'd happily post the pictures, but I can't get to my books right now. Copyright would belong to the publisher or illustrator, I believe, but may well have been inherited by someone still alive, though I doubt there'd be an issue over it. I guessed who you were! Hopefully I'll remember to do the pictures in a couple of weeks time, when I'm back in my proper office/library.

Hi again Alfred, just wondering how you'd feel about putting up pictures of the different editions of AMR's books? While not wanting to detract from the focus on her writing, I am - for example - curious as to whether a first edition Irene Idlesleigh has a similar cover to a Delina Delaney. I guess it would also help when scanning shelves to know exactly what a spine looked like. What do you think? I could contribute images of some of the more common editions.

I like your suggestion but I really don't have the time to do much with the site at the moment. When I do have time I plan to give the whole thing an overhaul. I'd certainly aim to have more pictures. Don't hold your breath, mind.
