Actor. FH knew him in London. FH says of him "Irving always gave the impression of being more than an actor: he had a great personality; his marked peculiarities of figure, face and speech set him apart and gave him unique place and distinction."
FH committed a spiteful act against Irving (see Wilson Barrett) which he later regretted when he discovered, at Irving's bankruptcy hearing, how generous Irving had been to his fellow actors, including supporting several with pensions.
