Actor and biographer. As a young man Pearson was one of FH's disciples in England. During this period he met Hugh Kingsmill, with whom he would form a life-long friendship and writing partnership. His later disillusionment with FH led him to write bitterly about him, notably in his biography of Bernard Shaw, but the passage of time led him to a milder and more balanced view.
